2023 WEDA Eastern Chapter Meeting
The 2023 WEDA Eastern Chapter Annual Meeting will be held at the Jacksonville Riverfront Double Tree Hilton Hotel from Tuesday, October 10th to Thursday, October 12, 2023.
Similar to last year, the event is going to focus on a specific topic Coastal Resilience and Dredging Restoration & Infrastructure Improvements.
“We want to encourage presentations that focus on dredging engineering and construction for coastal resilience, restoration and infrastructure improvements including topics such as dredging techniques, materials management, beneficial use of dredged materials (BUDM), protection and enhancement of the marine environment,” said WEDA in the release.
The deadline to submit presentations is 31 July 2023. If selected, presentations must be provided to the Eastern Chapter no later than 30 September 2023.
Tentative Agenda
- Tuesday (10/10/23) at 8 am will start the program with an opportunity to take the Dredging 101 course at 8 am followed by Dredging 201 at 1 pm. That will be followed by an Ice Breaker from 6-9;
- Wednesday’s (10/11/23) agenda will consist of technical presentations and a luncheon program allowing members to meet with USACE district representatives one-on-one. WEDA is excited to announce that the evening reception will be at the Jax Museum of Science & History. More details and sponsoring opportunities to come;
- Thursday (10/12/23) will continue with a half-day of technical presentations and conclude with chapter business. This year will include voting for a new member to the eastern chapter board.
