In just a year-and-a-half since the contract was signed, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company has completed R. Kinolhas Harbor Development Project.

MTCC and the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) signed the MVR 46.55 million (around $3 million) contract for the R. Kinolhas Harbor project in November 2021.

According to MTCC, the project included new harbor basin dredging operations of 31,726 cbm; existing harbor basin dredging operations of 15,252 cbm; channel dredging operations of 1,920 cbm; and boat beaching dredging operations of 6,100 cbm.

The project also called for the construction of a 186m quay wall, a 172.30m rectification of existing quay wall, a 285m breakwater, a 65m revetment, a 130m groyne, construction of a jetty & a concrete ramp.
