Dredge TEXAS ready for the Stone Harbor beachfill

The Borough of Stone Harbor (NJ) yesterday provided an update on their beach fill project, saying the cutter suction dredge TEXAS has arrived at the borrow area and is now ready to commence dredging operations.

Additionally, the booster pump has also been positioned onsite and installation of the remaining three sections of subline is now complete, the Borough announced on Monday.

The contractor, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock will (most likely today) start the first phase of the project from 78th Street in Avalon to tie into the existing berm, and the sand placement will extend southbound until reaching 87th Street.

Based on preconstruction surveys, around 700,000 cubic yards of dredged sand will be used for the Stone Harbor beach replenishment project.
