Back in 2018, TU Delft | Civil Engineering and Geosciences, Port of Rotterdam, and Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) Anstalt öffentlichen Rechts signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote cooperation and knowledge exchange on nautical depth issues.

Based on this MoU, the multidisciplinary academic network MUDNET was established.

Last week , the MoU was expanded to include new participants Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Groningen Seaports, Niedersachsen Ports GmbH & Co. KG and Harwich Haven Authority, and signed in Bremen, Germany.

The MUDNET team said that they are looking forward to participating in developing and testing innovative solutions for sailing through mud and port maintenance strategies in key ports of Europe.
