Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) announced yesterday that the land reclamation works of Bodufolhudhoo Island of Alif Alif Atoll are now complete.
After the successful completion of HA. Ihavandhoo, Sh. Mathi Komandoo and AA. Ukulhas work, MTCC’s chartered trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Filippo Brunelleschi , owned by Jan De Nul , to conduct the land reclamation works at Bodufolhudhoo Island.
The company mobilized the Bodufolhudhoo Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project site on July 8, 2023.
Under the contract, MTCC was required to conduct reclamation operations of 8 hectares.
The construction of a breakwater measuring 180 meters, a revetment measuring 1,052 meters and a 110-meter groyne were also included in the job.
