Katsa’s assembly team is just finishing the first new Dredge Pump Gearboxes. This gearbox is rated to 1330kW / 1600rpm, and dry weight is some 4700kg.
Configuration includes direct dredge pump mounting, PTO´s, integrated hydraulically operated wet running clutch as well as gearbox control unit with CAN-bus interface.
“ Gearbox tailored design is developed in close collaboration with the end-customer to achieve the highest reliability and efficiency in harsh dredging operations ,” said Katsa.
“ We are proud as ADS van Stigt to see the final product of the dredge pump gearbox we developed together with our partner Katsa ,” said Marc IJzerman , Sales Manager Industry & Offshore at ADS van STIGT.
“ The thrust bearing of the dredging pump is integrated in this gearbox and the output shaft is the impeller shaft which results in a compact overall footprint of the dredge pump and gearbox combination. The gearbox also has a PTO which drives to gland water pump for the gland water seal .”
This unit will soon be ready for delivery, added Katsa.
