The maintenance dredging of the Port of Turku fairways and harbor basin is nearing completion, reported the port’s technical director Markku Alahäme.

Before the harbor areas, the Aura River area was also dredged by the City of Turku for the summer Tall Ships Races.

Following dredging of the River Aura, the crews moved their heavy equipment to dredge the Pansio fairway and the inner harbor.

The dredging of the port, which was carried out by Oteran Oy, will ensure that the harbor basins and fairways have the promised draught for vessel traffic.
