Today, July 22, is the final day to send comments for the proposed Wilmington Harbor deepening project.

The plan to deepen the Wilmington Navigational Harbor from the current 42’ to 47 feet will allow the harbor to accommodate larger, deep draft container vessels and enable carriers to continue to utilize the Port of Wilmington as a port-of-call for U.S. East Coast-Asia services.

The Corps is partnering with the North Carolina State Ports Authority for the Wilmington Harbor 403 Letter Report and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
