Ipswich City Council (QLD) is about to begin works to restore the sediment basin at Robelle Domain in Springfield Central after repeated flooding caused large volumes of sediment to build up over time.

From Monday 19 August, contractors will dredge the basin and remove about 500 truckloads of sediment from the site. Works will take about two months, occurring Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm. The restoration work is expected to be complete by 31 October.

During this time, there will be impacts to certain areas including area and pathway closures. Please see the Ipswich City Council fb page for further information.

The project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
