DEME kicked off a dredging project at the Port of Patimban in East Java, Indonesia, recently.

“ We are carrying out dredging operations to deepen the port’s access channel. This project represents a key milestone for DEME and our team in Indonesia, particularly following the reflagging of our trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Brabo’ to the Indonesian flag ,” DEME said.

“We are also excited to be training a dedicated Indonesian crew, fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise between our experienced team and the new crew.”

Patimban is a port development initiated by the Indonesian government, with financial backing from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The port is set to drive economic growth in the region and bolster Indonesia’s role in global maritime trade.
