Dissen & Juhn of Stevensville, Maryland, is preparing for a busy 2024/2025 dredging season with locations ranging from Kent, Cecil, and Anne Arundel Counties.
Last season, Dissen & Juhn managed some amazing projects, like the one at Clements Creek Marina in Annapolis, or the Lighthouse Point Marina project in Baltimore, the company’s biggest so far.
The company’s dredging projects include local municipalities, commercial marinas, and various homeowners around the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
Dredging has many benefits including environmental and financial. Environmentally, dredging combats soil erosion, keeps the bodies of water clean, and prevents contaminant build up in the soil.
Financially, dredging can increase property value and business revenue by improving access to waterways and maintaining safe and efficient ship, barge and boat access. This will provide the ability to use waterfront property to its fullest potential.
Dissen & Juhn utilizes a method called Mechanical Dredging which uses a bucket dredger either attached to a crane or excavator mounted on a barge.
The material is removed and transported by truck to an authorized dredge spoil site or a specified location.
