The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has completed the dredging of St. George’s Thoroughfare.
“ The maintenance dredging that was done is essential to ensure the waterway remains navigable and safe for boat traffic ,” the City of Brigantine Mayor, Vince Sera , said.
The sand from the thoroughfare was placed along the south end jetty to help reinforce and protect the area where severe erosion has impacted the nearby homes and city infrastructure.
“ The City is grateful for the assistance of Senator Vince Polistina , whose efforts were instrumental in helping to secure this project for Brigantine ,” added Sera.
“ We would also like to thank the NJDOT and all involved for their hard work and commitment to improving our waterways and safeguarding our coastline .”
