The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Dredging Contractors of America (DCA) executed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) charter for the Industry Corps Hopper Dredge Management Group (ICHDMG) earlier this week.

The agreement is for the purpose of maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Nation’s dredging resources, enhancing the viability and competitiveness of ports and waterways through communication between USACE and dredging industry, and ensuring the availability of sufficient hopper dredges to respond to both emergency and routine dredging requirements.

The agreement between USACE and DCA has been in existence for 26 years.

Also, the new MOU will be in effect until 2034 and may be updated by the parties from time to time.

The signing ceremony took place at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters in Washington, DC.
