New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has announced the completion of navigation dredging of the High Bar Harbor State Channel.
The dredged material was beneficially placed at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park located in Barnegat Light, Ocean County.
This dredging project was part of a $1.9 million project to return High Bar Harbor channel to a state of good repair.
The contractor, H&L Contracting, hydraulically dredged 25,000 cubic yards and pumped the material via pipeline to Barnegat Lighthouse State Park. The sand was then placed and graded to support the ecology area at the Park’s request.
