The surface preparation and protective coating works on the cutter suction dredger (CSD) Mohab Mameesh have been completed at Port Said Shipyard - on the 25,000-ton floating dock.
The scope of work included:
• hull anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coating systems,
• ladder surface preparation and painting works,
• ballast tanks coating works,
• fresh water tanks coating works,
• void spaces coating works,
• anode shield application as part of the ICCP Cathodic Protection System.
The 29,190kW heavy-duty vessel - one of the largest CSDs in the Middle East - was designed in close cooperation with Suez Canal Authority (SCA).
The dredger, characterized by its long slender shape and high spud towers, has an overall length of 147.4 meters and provides a maximum dredging depth of 35 meters. Equipped with one submerged – and two inboard – dredge pumps, the installed cutter power is 4,800kW.
