Director General of Baku International Sea Trade Port LLC, Eldar Salahov, said that the dredging operations in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea in cooperation with international partners will begin at the end of 2026.
According to Salahov, an international tender for seabed dredging was announced during the summer months. The results of the tender are already being evaluated, and the terms of the final contract are expected to be agreed upon in the coming days.
“I think that by the end of 2026, we will physically begin seabed dredging activities in the Caspian Sea together with international partners,” Director General said.
He also added that the project is expected to last approximately 18 months.
