TasPorts recently completed its $1.3 million environmental remediation program at the Devonport site, addressing more than 2,000 tons of legacy contamination and delivering Tasmania's first known large-scale marine sediment remediation and beneficial reuse project.

The works have transformed the site, upgraded critical infrastructure and created a new reclaim area that will support future growth and expansion of the facility.

Tenant and future operator, BridgePro Engineering Pty Ltd will now progress redevelopment works with plans to reopen the facility in the first quarter of 2027.

Once complete, the Mersey Slipway is set to become one of the largest slipways and working yards for the tug, fishing and aquaculture fleets in southern Australia.
