Work to improve maritime access and infrastructure at the Port of Figueira da Foz is continuing with the reinforcement of rock removal operations in the navigation channel.
Since this Monday, Van Oord's giant backhoe dredger Simson has been in operation, working alongside a barge with a 2,800 m³ capacity.
The project will run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the work scheduled for completion by October 15.
According to the Port, this reinforcement of equipment allows for a significant increase in rock removal capacity and reduces the time that available quay space is restricted, thereby minimizing the impact of this work on port operations.
