South Port NZ has engaged the Dutch Dredging's 75 meter long trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Albatross to conduct maintenance dredging within the Port.
According to their official announcement, the project will start on Monday, September 28, and will last until October 15.
The South Port is located in the rich productive province of Southland, which is responsible for generating a sizeable proportion of New Zealand’s total exports by value. The region’s major cargo producing sites are all situated within 30 to 80km of the Port.
