Jan De Nul's trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Diogo Cão, an Ultra-Low Emission vessel (ULEv), carried out maintenance dredging for North Sea Port in the Sloehaven and Buitenhaven in Vlissingen recently.
According to the company, "North Sea Port chose to pair our ULEv technology with biofuel, keeping emissions to a minimum. We achieved significant reductions throughout the works:
> 50% less CO₂,
> 85–95% less NOx,
> 95–98% less particulate matter."
