Port of Townsville Limited said that a maintenance dredging project will take place in Ross River, between the Townsville Marine Precinct and the end of the Port Reclaim, in the following months.
According to the Port, these works are needed to remove built up natural sands and sediments in the Ross River channel.
The dredging operations will be completed using the trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Port Frederick, working during daylight hours only, seven days a week.
The dredging program is set to begin on October 10, and will last until late December.
