Land reclamation on Naïa Island is now 100% complete.
"The island's full footprint now stands above sea level, with its distinctive silhouette fully formed off Dubai's coastline. This is a defining construction milestone for Shamal and the next step toward delivering one of the world's most exclusive private islands," said Shamal Holding.
In August 2025, Van Oord secured this contract for the land reclamation of an area located just off Jumeirah’s coastline.
Naïa Island Dubai, a landmark project by Shamal Holding, will span approximately 13 hectares and feature 6 kilometers of pristine beaches. Designed to reflect the natural beauty of an untouched island, the project places strong emphasis on preserving the existing beach environment with open green spaces and coastal terrain, Shamal said.
For this capital project, Van Oord reclaimed over 28 million cubic meters of sand and placed approximately 4.3 million tons of rock.
In addition, the Dutch giant will install key marine infrastructure, including quay walls and culverts, with a strong emphasis on nature-based enhancements. The project also involves the reorientation of existing beaches and the strategic relocation of current rock groynes, optimizing both coastal protection and the guest experience.
