The Avalon beachfill project and the dredging operations on the Townsend’s Inlet navigation channel will both conclude Tuesday, November 5th.

According to the Borough of Avalon, the beachfill totals 1,201,259 cubic yards of sand; in addition, approximately 130,000 cubic yards of sand have been removed from the navigational channel. Beach paths continue to be closed from 12-14th streets.

Today, final sand quantities will be calculated before the operation moves to Stone Harbor by the end of the week.

All equipment will be mobilized to Stone Harbor by November 14th with all beach paths open in Avalon, the Borough concluded.
