Following the departure of specialized drill barges and dredging fleet, the major capital dredging program at Lerwick Harbor in Shetland has officially concluded.
Wrapped up in early November, the work marked the end of the multi-phase £25m harbor improvement initiative.
The dredging project was carried out by Boskalis, utilizing equipment like the drill barge Rock Mate and backhoe dredgers Manu Pekka and Odin.
According to the Lerwick Port Authority, this program was designed to enhance deep-water access and capacity to accommodate larger vessels across the cruise, fishing, and offshore energy sectors.
