Army Corps Announces Additional 2012 Funding for JAXPORT

JAXPORT CEO Paul Anderson shares yesterday’s good news with Panama Canal CEO Alberto Alemán Zubieta: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces an additional $7.7 million for JAXPORT projects this year.

Full Corps 2012 funding for JAXPORT now stands at more than $21 million for critical projects at the port, including:

– final study and initial planning of the Mile Point project,

– construction at existing dredge disposal sites, and

– routine dredging to maintain the harbor’s current 40 foot depth.

Anderson was on hand yesterday in Tallahassee for Zubieta’s address to participants at the Florida Chamber of Commerce International Days, an effort to present state legislators with information about the state’s international businesses and their impact.
