USA: Ventura Port District Secures Dredging Money

The Ventura Port District will receive $2.5 million for the Ventura Harbor dredging program, according to vcstar.com.

During the past 10 months, the port officials met with the Army Corps of Engineers in Los Angeles, Oakland and Washington, D.C. to discuss this issue.

The Ventura Harbor dredging project will commence after Manson Construction completes dredging work at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, likely in early February.

Mike Tracy, the Ventura Mayor, together with the port commissioners, worked on securing the funding for this very important project.

They received help from Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Reps. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, and Julia Brownley, D-Oak Park; and then-Rep. Elton Gallegly, R-Simi Valley, reports vcstar.com.
