The registration of Rotterdam Container Terminal (RCT) on the Maasvlakte and Combi Terminal Twente Rotterdam (CTT) in Pernis means that the InlandLinks network now covers the entire port of Rotterdam area.
Previously, UWT in the Waalhaven area and Steinweg Beatrix Terminal in the Eemhaven area also joined. The network now comprises 40 terminals throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Italy and Hungary.
RCT, on the Maasvlakte, has a total area of 17 hectares and a throughput capacity of more than 550,000 TEU per year. The terminal has a 410-metre quay, with two quay cranes on rails. Ships with a draught of up to 10 metres can moor there. RCT has 3 railway tracks (2×300 metres and 1×350 metres). Every day, the terminal receives several dozen inland vessels. These can be handled by the Kramer Group in the nearby Amazonehaven at DCS (joint venture with ECT) as well.
CCT Rotterdam, on the eastern side of Pernis, has a total area of 4.5 hectares and an annual throughput capacity of some 150,000 TEU. The terminal has a 140-metre quay with a depth of 8 metres and a mobile quay crane. The three train tracks can handle trains up to 650 metres long, thanks to reach stackers. Four to five times per week CTT Rotterdam provides a rail service to and from Nuremburg/Munich, Stuttgart and Kutno (Poland), among others.
CTT Rotterdam and RCT also act as hubs for the terminals on the Maasvlakte. The terminal is visited by dozens of inland vessels every day, from places like Hengelo, Antwerp, Vlissingen and Terneuzen.
