IADC: Seminar on Dredging and Land Reclamation in October

IADC Scheduled Seminar on Dredging and Land Reclamation

To optimise the chances of the successful completion of a dredging or reclamation project, all contracting parties should, from the start, fully understand the requirements of the project. With this mission in mind, the International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) launched its seminar 20 years ago.

As a recent Seminar participant in Delft (June 2013) explained: “What I liked the most is the practical nature of the seminar which concretised the learning.”

With the National University of Singapore, the IADC will present this highly informative and respected Seminar on Dredging and Land Reclamation, 21-25 Oct 2013.

IN THE CLASSROOM

The in-depth lectures are given by dredging experts from IADC member companies, whose practical knowledge and experience add an extra value to the classroom lessons. Amongst the subjects covered are:

– the development of new ports and maintenance of existing ports;

– project phasing;

– descriptions of types of dredging equipment;

– costing of projects; and

– types of dredging projects.

Each participant will receive a set of comprehensive proceedings with an extensive reference list of relevant literature and at the end of the week, a Certificate of Achievement in recognition of the completion of the coursework.

Activities outside the classroom are equally as important. An on-site visit to a nearby dredging project is therefore an integral element in the learning process as well.
