Captiva Beaches Replenishment About to Begin (USA)
The Captiva beaches replenishment program is about to begin, according to nbc-2.com.
Two dredgers, named Dodge Island and Padre Island, arrived off the Captiva coast today.
During this $8 million worth project, these powerful vessels will dredge beach compatible sand from a borrow area off the shore and load it onto the barges, reports nbc-2.com.
The sand will be placed through an underwater pipeline onto the eroded Captiva beaches.
