Ghana: Dredging at Daboase Water Intake-Point Underway
The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced that the Daboase Water Intake-Point dredging project is currently underway.
Mr Daniel Moumaalah, Western Regional Manager of GWCL, said that there was heavy siltation in the Intake-Point and the Pra River, the source of water for treatment, thereby, necessitating the dredging.
He said the Daboase Water Treatment Plant alone produced six million gallons of water per day but had reduced drastically as a result of the siltation coupled with the activities of small-scale mining along the Pra River.
