Picture of the Day: Ashland Breakwater

Roen Salvage Company is currently constructing a 1,000 ft long breakwater consisting of over 70,000 tons of stone in Ashland, Wisconsin.

This construction scheme began in August and is moving forward according to plan.

The breakwater is part of a National Superfund site.

It’s protection from weather will facilitate environmental dredging in 2016, and eventually a city marina basin.

The contract for the Baird-designed breakwater is managed by the Foth/Envirocon Joint Venture.
