Town Council of the Town of Southern Shores will hold a public hearing on the proposed beach nourishment project on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
At the meeting, a document entitled ‘ Preliminary Assessment Resolution for Beach Nourishment Project Assessment ‘ will be presented to the public for an additional round of commentary.
The resolution, which pertains to the proposed nourishment project along approximately 1,500 feet of beach, was adopted by the Town Council on April 4th 2017.
According to the town, the proposed beach nourishment project would involve acquiring, constructing, reconstructing, extending, or otherwise building or improving beach erosion control and hurricane protection works.
The public hearing will be held during the regular meeting of the Town Council at 5:30 p.m. in the Pitts Center at the Southern Shores Municipal Complex, NC.
