Corps Introduces Channel Islands Harbor Dredging Plan

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has unveiled plan for the maintenance dredging project at the Channel Islands Harbor federal navigation channel.

This very important project consists of biennial maintenance dredging of the Channel Islands Harbor federal navigation channel and sand trap, and maintenance dredging of Port Hueneme Harbor as needed.

Majority of the dredge material will be placed on Hueneme Beach located south of Port Hueneme Entrance Channel, approximately 2 miles from the Channel Islands Harbor sand trap.

The proposed contract will contain a base dredging period and two option periods with a completion time of approximately 55 days per dredge cycle.
