Wilhelmsen Ships Service has opened a new office in Sousse, south of Tunis and conveniently located between Tunisia’s main ports. The new facility will service a growing market in the region, including vessels calling on Tunisian ports and a number of offshore customers, with Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s range of agency services and Unitor marine products.

The facility will be operated by Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s sub-contractor Damak.

By establishing the new Sousse office in Tunisia, Wilhelmsen Ships Service now offers a network of coverage in North and West Africa countries including Casablanca (Morocco), Dakar (Senegal), Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Lagos and Port Harcourt (Nigeria).

Eric Gergaud, General Manager North and West Africa comments, “The new site at Sousse offers the company’s services to our customers calling in here. This is another important step in the continuing progression of Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s comprehensive network coverage in the north Africa region.”

During February 2011, Wilhelmsen Ships Service will also be opening a new site at Pointe Noire, Congo, covering also the Southern ports of Cabinda and Soyo in Angola.
