The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, has extended the comment period for the Draft General Reevaluation Report and Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the Clear Creek Reevaluation Study, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, and Harris Counties, Texas, to Feb. 14, 2012.

The Clear Creek Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project is a partnership project between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (the Corps), the Harris County Flood Control District (the District), Galveston County, and Brazoria Drainage District 4. The Corps is the lead agency for this project.

The original plan included deepening and widening Clear Creek to reduce serious flooding problems that have affected some area residents for over thirty years.
