The Hernando County Port Authority Board will meet tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at the Linda Pedersen Park at Jenkins Creek Recreation Building, 6340 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach.

The Port Authority Board meets the first Wednesday of every month. Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to review and make recommendations on boating and waterway related issues in Hernando County.

Included on the agenda for discussion at this meeting is the Hernando Beach Dredge Project. All meetings of the Port Authority Board are open to the public.

Hernando County’s dredging project has been ongoing since 1994. The channel was straightened and deepened to a depth of about six feet to make it easier for recreational and commercial boaters.

This project was named as one of the top 13 achievements of the last fiscal year.
