USA: Ventura Harbor Needs Dredging

According to vcstar.com, the Ventura Harbor needs $5.9 million to dredge its waterway entrance and an area known as the “sand trap.”

For now, the waterway is fine, but without dredging that won’t always be the case,“ stated Ventura Port District General Manager Oscar Peña.

Peña, Ventura Mayor Mike Tracy and Commissioner Gregory Carson went to Washington. D.C., in late July to lobby to get funding restored, vcstar.com reports.

Peña told legislators the harbor is the only one in California not getting dredging money.
