The Washington Department of Ecology is seeking public comment on the city of Millwood’s proposed comprehensive update of its shoreline master program.

The updated shoreline master program will influence development along the Spokane River shoreline within city limits.

Millwood residents and businesses helped the city tailor a program that protects existing shoreline functions while enhancing public access. The program emphasizes the importance of maintaining the current mix of residential and industrial uses that occupy the shorelines.

Ecology will accept public comment on the city’s proposed shoreline program until July 29, 2013.
