Lisa F. Glahn, a Member in the Litigation Section of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. and a leader in its Construction Law Practice Group, is presenting at the 33rd annual Western Dredging Association (WEDA) Technical Conference. The conference is being held August 25-28 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Ms. Glahn’s presentation is entitled, “Practical Claims Avoidance Techniques: How to Prevent Excess Costs and Unnecessary Delay on Dredging Projects.”

Ms. Glahn’s practice has involved litigating and resolving several multimillion-dollar disputes on public projects such as the Massachusetts Water Resources Association’s Deer Island Outfall Tunnel Project, the Central Artery’s Ted Williams Tunnel Finish Work Project, the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission’s Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement Project, the Army Corps of Engineers’ Kill van Kull Harbor Deeping Project, and the Wachusett Aqueduct Rehabilitation Project. She has also counseled clients on all aspects of procurement law, project development, and claims procedure, and has extensive knowledge in complex, multiparty claims disputes involving issues related to design/build, project delays, defective work, termination, mechanic’s liens, differing site conditions, pay-if-paid provisions, and surety and insurance coverage negotiation.

WEDA is a member of The World Organization of Dredging Associations (WODA). The WEDA region covers North, Central and South America. Its mission is to promote the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering and construction by sponsoring or co-sponsoring national and international technical conferences, seminars, and symposiums.
