Tokyo Hosts Ping-to-Chart Workshop (Japan)
A Ping-to-Chart™ workshop was recently held in Tokyo, Japan to inform existing and new clients about the latest improvements offered by CARIS marine GIS solutions for the processing, analysis and management of high-volume marine spatial data.
The workshop, which was a follow-up to the successful 2012 event, was once again presented in cooperation with TOYO Cooperation, CARIS’ Alliance Partner in Japan.
Nearly 30 maritime professionals attended to learn about the benefits of the seamless Ping-to-Chart solution. During the three day seminar participants were introduced to recent CARIS HIPS and SIPS improvements, including the redesigned calibration module, enhanced SIPS processing tools, and workflows for water column imagery processing.
Participants also gained experience with CARIS Bathy DataBASE (BDB) to validate elevation data, produce contours for cartographic products, perform volume computations to support dredge operations, and manage many data sets in a secure database environment.
