Dredged materials located on the property of Pershing Park Boat Launch Basin in the city of Racine are to be removed and placed in Belle Harbor Marina, announced dnr.wi.gov.

The new location also lies within the city and is owned by Racine County. The project to transport the dredged materials between the two properties is proposed by both the county and the city.

Dredged materials are solids removed from the bed of any surface water. Their removal from the Pershing Park Boat Launch Basin is part of a plan proposed by the city to improve and maintain the launch.

According to the selected disposal alternative, the dredged materials (up to 15,000 cubic yards) will be placed on the above property located within the Racine city limits.
