Dhaka WASA Drainage (O&M) Circle has recently organised a community meeting to inform the households, businesses and local leaders about the Urban Dredging Demonstration Project (UDDP) activities and the possible impact of the execution of dredging on the people living in the neighborhood.

It was also the start of the community involvement activities and the moment to introduce the local NGO Resource Integration Center (RIC), since an important part of the project is to turn around the current practices on solid waste and neighborhood cleanliness.

This dredging program is currently underway in the Segunbagicha area.

Dhaka WASA Drainage (O&M) Circle, launched the Urban Dredging Demonstration Project (UDDP) last year, as part of the Water Operators Partnership (WOP) between Dhaka WASA and Vitens Evides International (VEI).

The launch is part of a recently started 10 years dredging program by Dhaka WASA to clean all canals in the capital of Bangladesh.
