Ted Schiafone, the harbor manager of the City of Oceanside Harbor, CA, has just released the latest update on the Oceanside Harbor Dredging Program, saying that the dredge work is done, but demobilization will take place during the next week.

During the work, Manson Construction has dredged 285,000 cubic yards of clean material and placed it on harbor beaches.

They are now in the process of removing all pipe. By Friday, November 9th all pipe should have been removed from Oceanside Beach, said Schiafone.

All pipe on the beach in front of North Coast Village should also be gone before this Holiday weekend. Once all of that pipe is removed, Manson will do a final grade of the beach.

The harbor manager added that four 500′ sections of pipe will be laid on the harbor beach and will remain on the beach through Tuesday, November 13th.

“ Between the 13th and 15th of next week, Manson will be removing their portable office, all remaining vessels and returning Lot 12 back the harbor for use. I think we are back on schedule for our normal harbor dredge in the Spring ,” concluded Schiafone.

Oceanside Harbor navigational dredging is an annual project conducted to maintain the federal channel within the harbor at its authorized depth, providing safe navigation for the recreational, commercial and military vessels that use the channel.

In 2017, Manson successfully removed 440,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from the harbor and placed it along Oceanside’s beaches.
