UDMC Wins Ras Al Khaimah Contract, Dredging Included

Union Dredgers and Marine Contracting (UDMC), a Dubai based coastal marine contracting company, has been awarded the offshore project works for a new desalination facility at Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

According to their official announcement, the scope of works will include dredging, HDPE welding, concrete block fabrication, sheet piling, installation and launching operations.

Under the contract, UDMC will use its marine fleet to complete the offshore works including barges, dredgers, tug boats and a backhoe dredger.

With a 2000mm HDPE pipeline being utilized for intake and outfall pipelines, UDMC will be using a Hiweld HDPE Welding Machine 2500mm welding diameter (HW-2500) which is one of the largest Butt Fusion Machines in the Gulf region.

The new desalination facility will make available 30 million gallons of water more every day to consumers of RAK, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah in the Northern Emirates.
