The visit focused on future operations and coordination of Avalon during its operations at the San Juan Harbor deepening project, Puerto Rico.

Joel A. Pizá Batiz, Executive Director, Puerto Rico Port Athority and Ing. Josué A. Colón Ortiz, Executive Director, Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority joined Decker alongside TF-VIPR staff and briefed by Avalon technical staff during the tour.

The San Juan Harbor project includes the deepening of the Anegado and Army Terminal canals, the widening of the Army Terminal canal, and the expansion of the San Antonio canal to allow significant advances in the docking maneuvers of ships, freighters, barges and cruise ships, which generates savings in maritime transportation, shortening maneuver times, reducing pollutant emissions and obtaining energy savings.
