Repair works to upgrade the Leschenault Inlet rock walls – located at the entrance to the inlet – and Koombana Bay groyne started in May 2025, and will include additional rocks to help rebuild the groynes and walls.

Due to the age and condition of the existing walls, erosion and loss of material have started to occur. According to the City officials, these repairs are necessary to protect public reserves and nearby properties.

The important project will be carried out in stages during autumn and winter, helping minimize disruptions for the community, the City said.

The upgrades are expected to be completed in November 2025.
