Australia: Dredger Hippopotes Completes Work on WBDDP

Dredger Hippopotes Completes Work on WBDDP

The Observer reports that the dredger Hippopotes has completed its work on the Western Basin Dredging and Disposal Project (WBDDP) and left the harbour this week.

The Hippopotes removed dredge material from the seabed at the Curtis Island sites, loading barges that placed the material at the East Banks offshore site.

This massive vessel arrived in Gladstone harbour in April this year to perform dredging works in order to provide access for construction vessels to the LNG sites on Curtis Island.

According to The Observer, the trailer suction hopper dredger Rotterdam is due to arrive next month at the Western Basin Dredging and Disposal Project (WBDDP).
