City of Moreton Bay completes dredging at Banksia Beach

The City of Moreton Bay has just completed its biggest dredging project within the Pacific Harbor Canal Estate at Banksia Beach.

It has been a mammoth task with about 80,000 cubic meters of sediment removed from Skippers Canal and pumped via a 7km temporary pipeline, across the Passage, to City of Moreton Bay’s Dredged Material Management Facility at Ningi.

The work started in mid-2025 and has taken eight months to complete.

The City said that the next major maintenance dredging project will be in 10-20 years.
