USA: RWSA to Seek Detailed South Fork Reservoir Dredging Proposal

RWSA to Seek Detailed South Fork Reservoir Dredging Proposal

The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority will ask a Texas company for a detailed proposal to dredge the South Fork Reservoir.

Albemarle Supervisor Ken Boyd and fellow RWSA members have heard from county residents who say dredging will enhance the reservoir as a source of recreation, reports wina.com.

The proposal is to dredge sand from the upper portion of the main stem of the South Fork Reservoir, in the vicinity of the Reas Ford Road bridge.

Some city ratepayers don’t like the potential price-tag for dredging. The RWSA is also creating a new multi-million dollar earthen dam in the Ragged Mountain area.
