Werribee River Dredging Kicks Off

Victorian Regional Channels Authority has announced that the Werribee River maintenance dredging program commenced, and will last until 22 July 2013.

Dredging works in the area of the Werribee River will be carried out by a cutter suction dredge, with spoil disposal to be pumped through a discharge pipe to the adjacent foreshore area north and east of the channel for beach renourishment.

On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation will be marked as per IALA standards. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and proceed at a safe speed when navigating within the channel and observe the displayed day marks on the dredge.
